Our next course will be held in March in Aras Chronain Cultural Centre in Clondalkin and will be delivered by Colette Gallagher and Deirdre McNicholas. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Volunteer Management Training Modules Tuesday 23rd March 9.30am – 12.30pm Planning for Volunteer Involvement Aim: To plan for volunteer involvement and to explore procedures around designing volunteer roles Objectives: By the end of the session you should be able to * Reflect on how involvement of volunteers can benefit the organisation * Consider the expectations and understanding of volunteers * Consider potential costs of involving volunteers in your organisation * Understand how to write a role description and a person specification * Explore the importance of getting feedback from volunteers when finishing their involvement with organisations 1.30pm - 4.30pm Recruitment, Selection and Induction Aim: To explore the principles and procedures for the fair and effective recruitment, selection and induction of volunteers Objectives: By the end of the session you should be able to * Understand effective recruitment and selection methods * Design a recruitment campaign for your organisation * Analyse application procedures * Design suitable interview questions * Draft an indution plan * Examine volunteer agreements
Tuesday 30th March 9.30am – 12.30pm Support and Supervison Aim: To provide participants with an understanding of the role and importance of support and supervison when managing volunteers Objectives: By the end of this session you should be able to *Define supervison and its purpose * Identify positive support and supervison skills and techniques * Identify ways of motivating and recognising volunteers * Explore ways of dealing with difficult situations within a supervisory context
Aim: To provide participants with the knowledge to design a volunteer policy Objectives: By the end of this session you should be able to *Understand what should be included in a volunteer policy * Consider who should be consulted on policy design and when * Draft a policy for your own organisation * Plan for its implementation |
