OPENING DAY


Launch of ACW

Minister Pat Rabbitte TD will officially launch Active Citizenship Week 2011 in the presence of Mayor Caitríona Jones.  During the launch, members of the South Dublin County Volunteer Corps will be presented with a small memento to acknowledge their input into volunteering in the County.

Venue: South Dublin County Council, Tallaght, Dublin 24.

Volunteer Recruitment Fair

Community Groups from across the county will set up stalls to inform potential volunteers of their variety of volunteering opportunities.  Interested in volunteering? Then come along for more information.

Venue: Tallaght Library and SDCC offices Clondalkin.

Time: 11:00am - 3:00pm

Comhairle Na N’Og will host a voter registration drive amongst young people in schools across the county.

CELEBRATION DAY


Garda Reserve

The Garda Reserve will be recruiting volunteers in the Square Shopping centre.  Pop along to meet some reservists and get more information.

Volunteering Celebration and Thank you event

Various community centres across the county will host a coffee morning to Thank their volunteers for being such an integral part of the community

Venue: Community Centres across South Dublin County

Time: 11:00am


Tallaght Travellers Coffee Morning

The Tallaght Travellers CDP will host a coffee morning to thank all the volunteers that they have worked with over the last year.

Venue: Tallaght Travellers CDP, Killinarden Enterprise Park.

Time: 11:00am



Charity Coffee Morning.

Volunteers from the Coffee Dock in Tallaght Hospital (a volunteer run coffee bar in Tallaght Hospital) will host a coffee morning in aid of a local charity.

CORPORATE DAY


Workshop on Involving Corporates

South Dublin County Volunteer Centre and Business in the COmmunity Ireland will host a training workshop for community groups on how to approach to and work alongside local businesses.

VOLUNTEER DAY

The National Day of Volunteering!


The National Day of Volunteering sees various once off volunteer projects happening in South Dublin County. From clean-ups to bowling trips, from painting projects to trips to the museum - companies across the county are demonstrating their commitment to their local communities by giving something back and volunteering with community groups for a day.
